Learn to design interactive games using Scratch, an easy to learn block-based visual coding language developed by MIT lab and sponsored by Google, Amazon and Lego . Scratch’s drag-and-drop interface with colorful blocks makes it easy for students to learn and get introduced to coding concepts.

Introduction To Scratch Programming

  • Explain the concept of programming
  • Define an algorithm
  •  Navigate and perform simple operations on the scratch environment
  •  Add sprite and backdrop to a scratch program
  •  Program a sprite to move in different directions

Sprites And Backdrop I

  • Add different sprites in the scratch environment
  • Add different backdrop in scratch environment

Motion, Looks And Events

  •  Explain the uses of the motion, Looks and Event blocks
  •  Identify motion, looks and event blocks
  •  Use the motion blocks to program the movement of a sprite
  •  Use the looks blocks to program the appearance of a sprite
  •  Use the event block to handle actions that happen in their scratch program

Costumes And Animations

  •  Make simple animations with scratch
  •  Add costume effects to a sprite
  •  Use costume and other effects to change the looks of a sprite

Conditions, Loops and Sensing

  •  Explain what a condition is in scratch
  •  Add condition to a scratch program
  •  Create a simple scratch program using condition, loop and sensing blocks

Variables and Operators

  • Explain what a variable is.
  •  Create variables in Scratch.
  •  Use basic operators to make conditions in Scratch
