Four Port Harcourt young girls aged between 15-16 years, have developed a mobile application that helps track kidnap victims in response to rising global concerns. One of the girls nearly lost her mother to a kidnap incidence in the state, this motivated them to help curb this problem. The application is a timely aid to curbing the rising rates of kidnap incidence around the state, the country and indeed world over.

The iTracker application is a mobile application that is designed to help people track their loved ones if abducted. Its design has features which enable the tracker to automatically update the victim’s location every 10 meters once activated. The iTracker also has a stand-alone hardware device that operates independent of the victim’s smartphone thereby bridging the gap even when the smartphone is destroyed or turned off. The hardware is easy to carry and is built to be detectable even in rugged terrains.

This is believed to help both individuals and security agencies in creating a more safer environment.

They were mentored by Somkenechukwu Mamah, the founder of Code Ambassadors Academy whose passion has been to raise the next generation techies by exposing kids/teens to tech tools that will help them proffer solutions to societal issues.
