Port Harcourt kids were over the moon with joy and excitement on Saturday, 23rd July 2022 at the first edition of The Young Techies Festival.
The festival is a gathering of kids between the ages of 8-17 years, which aims to expose them to the latest technologies, inspire them to start a career journey in tech, and connect them with other kids who are already doing amazing things in tech.
The first edition was held at the Rivers State ICT Department (Tech Creek) and recorded over 230 children in attendance physically and over 50 parents. The event featured games, exhibitions, and first-hand experiences in virtual reality.
Speaking at the event were John Oseni, Naomi Bamgbose, and Clinton Imaro, all teenage techies already doing awesome things.
The event was organized by Code Ambassadors and proudly sponsored by RIO Foundation, Techrity, BrainFriend (Cinfores), and Keep It Real (KIR) Foundation.
The good news is The Young Techies Festival has come to stay for good. The organizers, Code Ambassadors said plans are already in motion for the next year’s edition which will be bigger and better.
